Keith is regarded as one of Australia’s leading blue-water boating specialists, with more than 30 years in the industry. Over his career, Keith has been in, on or around the water, starting out as a kid sailing boats on Sydney’s Pittwater, before moving on to race offshore Class 1 power boats, and more recently, ocean passages to Middleton Reef, Lord Howe Island and the Louisiades Islands, PNG, and circumnavigating Australia with his friend and passionate boatie, Ian Reynolds.
A boat builder by formal qualifications and more than a decade’s experience, Ryan is known for his fastidious attention to each and every facet of a boat, down to the finest detail. Recognised as a luminary in the boat building industry, Ryan is based in Taiwan and oversees construction of the Whitehaven models in the New Ocean Yachts yard.
Ryan’s combination of design flair and precision draughtsmanship are recognisable in every Whitehaven, hand-crafted under his supervision to customers’ specific design requirements.
Attracted by the ethos and quality of the Whitehaven range, Bruce is a partner in the business. In 1985, Bruce took over the reins of his father’s company, Scott’s Refrigerated Freightways, eventually growing the business into a multi-million dollar enterprise.
In 2005 the business was purchased by private equity investment bank ABN Amro, only for him to buy it back in 2008. Bruce and his team turned the business around before selling the company again in May 2014 to Automotive Holdings Group.
Bruce’s interest in Whitehaven was cultivated from first-hand experience. Not content with the level of customisation offered by mainstream manufacturers, Bruce was attracted to Whitehaven’s approach and its ethos. Bruce and his wife, Julie worked closely with Keith to build their ideal 70-foot vessel, comprising every one of their personal prerequisites, which they took delivery of in 2011.
The friendship that evolved during this journey and the desire to provide the same exceptional boat ownership experience to like-minded people, led to his involvement in Whitehaven Motor Yachts.
Bringing both business acumen and a genuine zeal for boating, Bruce aims to devise and implement a broader strategic plan to position the Whitehaven brand firmly within the Australian and New Zealand markets.
